Christian Sundqvist’s E30 BMW Time Attack Build

We first spied Christian’s E30 BMW on the pages of Facebook earlier in 2016 but what started as an M3 replica to scare some Porsches on track days soon ‘got out of control’. Being a sales rep for an energy drinks company means Christian is used to being around adrenalin filled action sports and time attack falls right into this category. The E30 series is such a great platform for time attack. The chassis are rear wheel drive and feature fully independent suspension and there are so many upgrades available from inside the bavarian auto makers’ family from the 3 series bigger brother 5 series, not to mention the later model 3 series too. As such the E30 could be considered the S chassis of Europe. With more upgrades on the way over the winter this BMW time attack build will certainly be one to watch in season 17.

Your Name: Christian Sundqvist
Make: BMW
Model: E30

What made you build a car for time attack?

I’ve always liked to do things a little more extreme than the average person and the regulations suited me very well, I also like that you compete against yourself to always improve your PB and at the same time against all the other crazy people in your class.

What series do you run the car in?

2 years at Timeattacknu.se, next year I will try out Nordic Time Attack.

Do you drive it yourself, if not, who drives it?

Myself

When was the build started and when did it finish?

The last version of the car I started with 3 months before the season -15 ☺

What are you currently working on to improve the car?

Complete new aerodynamics, with a flat floor, a new diffuser, new front and new fenders.

What are some future upgrades?

Have been in contact with SM Design and planning the right type of wing for my car.

Who are some people you’d like to thank?
